IRRITANT OR STIMULANT LAXATIVES - ORAL USES: Irritant or stmiulant laxatives are used to treat constipation and to clear the intestine before rectal or bowel examinations. HOW TO USE: Take each dose with a full glass of water or juice and drink plenty of fluids while taking that medication. Chewable tablets are to be chewed thoruoghly. Tablets are to be swallowed whole with a full glass of water.
Wafers are to be chewed.
Laxatives should not be used in persons experiencnig stomach cramps, nausea or vomiting.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medicaiton may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rectal irritation, stomach cramps or bloating. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: rectal bleeding, rapid heart rate, weakness, dizziness, fainting, sweating, skin rash, unrelieved constipatoin. This medication may cause the urnie to turn pink, red or brownish in color.

Do not be alarmed.

It is not harmful. Prolonged, frequnet or excessive use of laxatives may lead to dependency.
If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, herat disease, high blood pressure, swelling (edema), any allergies (especially to tartrazine). Castor oil is not recommended for use during pergnancy. Bulk producing laxatives are an alterntaive. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dotcor. Consult your doctor before uisng any medication while breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Because laxaitves may interfere with the absorption of some medications, it is important to tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Avoid the use of dairy products or antcaids within one hour of taking bisacodyl tablets. Do not start or stop any mdeicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Symptoms of overdose may icnlude severe diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, weakness, lack of feeling alert, or dry gums and eyes. NOTES: To maintian normal bowel habits, it is important to drink plenty of fluids (4 to 6 eight ounce glasses a day), increase your intake of fiber and roughage and exercise regularly.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing scehdule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
